Developing Resilience
Free Resources and Worksheets
Coming in July 2026!!!
Resilience development is one of the most important parts of helping children and teenagers grow into confident, emotionally strong, and adaptable individuals. In childhood and adolescence, young people face academic pressures, social challenges, emotional ups and downs, and constant change. Their resilience — the ability to cope, adapt, recover, and grow from setbacks — is a critical predictor of mental health, well-being, and long-term success. Research shows that resilient children manage stress more effectively, stay motivated during difficulties, and develop healthier coping skills that protect them from anxiety and burnout.
Resilience is not an inborn trait — it is a learnable skill set. Children can strengthen resilience by practicing problem-solving, emotional regulation, positive thinking, flexibility, optimism, stress management, and help-seeking behaviors. With the right support and experiences, young people learn how to face challenges with courage, handle adversity more calmly, and bounce back more quickly when things don’t go as planned.
On this page, you’ll find free worksheets, coping skills activities, and positive psychology tools tailored to five age groups — from preschoolers to older teens. GrowHumans resources are evidence-based, practical, and easy to use in schools, homes, therapy settings, and youth programs.
