What GrowHumans Is All About?
GrowHumans was created with a simple belief: education has the power not only to teach, but to shape lives.
This project brings together modern psychological science, positive education, and three decades of professional experience to support teachers, parents, and all who influence the development of children and young people.
GrowHumans exists to provide:
-
clear, research-based insights,
-
practical and classroom-friendly tools,
-
thoughtful reflections on learning, well-being, and growth,
-
and gentle guidance for teachers and other adults who want to nurture resilience, curiosity, and optimism in the next generation.
The mission is straightforward: to help children grow into capable, confident, emotionally healthy human beings — and to support the adults helping them get there.
Why “GrowHumans” (Why This Name)?
The name GrowHumans reflects a central idea in positive psychology and education:
children are not just students — they are humans in the making.
Their development is not limited to grades, performance, or academic achievement.
They are growing:
-
hearts,
-
minds,
-
character,
-
relationships,
-
strengths,
-
meaning,
-
resilience...
Education, at its best, helps shape the whole human being.
GrowHumans is dedicated to supporting that process with science, compassion, and practical wisdom.
Why #793 Teaching Hashtag?
A second project by Dr. Kristijan Musek Lešnik — Aparenttly — was created for parents and carries the playful subtitle: “793 Proven Ways to Ruin Your Kids’ Future… and a Few Quite Reasonable Arguments Against Repeating Them.”
That project focuses on parenting, family life, and the humorous, imperfect, and deeply human side of raising children.
GrowHumans complements it from a different angle: it focuses on schools, teachers, classrooms, and educational environments.
Where Aparenttly brings humor and realism to parenting, GrowHumans brings clarity, research, and practical tools to teaching and learning.
Together, they form two sides of the same mission: supporting children’s healthy development. And the "793" hashtag conects them.

Our Philosophy
GrowHumans is built on a few guiding principles:
-
Every child deserves an environment where they feel safe, valued, and capable.
-
Well-being is not a luxury — it is a foundation for learning.
-
Teachers deserve the autonomy, support, and respect needed to do meaningful work.
-
Positive education is not about constant happiness — it is about equipping young people with strengths to navigate real life.
-
Growth comes from relationships, purpose, engagement, curiosity, and contribution.
Above all, this project believes that education is most powerful when it grows the whole human being — not just the student.
A Note from the Author
“For more than 30 years, I have worked as a psychologist, teacher, lecturer, researcher, and educational expert.
Throughout this time, one truth has remained constant: children thrive when the adults around them understand them, believe in them, and help them discover their strengths.”
GrowHumans is the place where I bring together all I’ve learned — from science, from classrooms, from teachers, from parents, and from countless conversations with young people.
My hope is that these insights help you create environments where children can grow into the best version of themselves — with curiosity, kindness, confidence, and joy.

A Final Note
This project is built with care, expertise, and deep respect for the work educators and parents do every day.
If GrowHumans helps you think differently, feel inspired, or try one new idea in your classroom or home, then the project is fulfilling its purpose.
Together, we can build schools, families, and communities where every child feels seen — and every adult feels supported in helping them thrive.
